Guru Rinpoche; Padmasambhava; 蓮花生大師
Guru Rinpoche is a pivotal figure in Tibetan Buddhism, known for emerging as an eight-year-old from a lotus flower in the kingdom of Oddiyana. Unlike the Buddha, who attained enlightenment later in life, he was believed to be fully enlightened. He introduced the Vajrayana tradition to Tibet, ensuring its survival and growth, and is often called “the second Buddha.”
During his life, Guru Rinpoche concealed his teachings as terma, or hidden treasures, throughout the Himalayas. These treasures could be physical artefacts or knowledge encoded in the environment, meant to be unveiled later by tertons, or treasure revealers.
Hand- embroided in Nepal.
Measurement of the embroidery by itself is 31.5 inches X 23 inches with additional silk Thangka bordering the Thangka embroidery.
